Completed - Ferrari F2001B

The Ferrari F2001 was a championship-winning F1 car driven by Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello during the 2001 Formula One season. At the start of the 2002 season however, the team had not finished their new car, so ran a converted F2001 for the first two races, called the F2001B. This car was largely the same as the F2001, but it had a completely different livery, which featured Vodafone logos instead of FedEx, Tic Tac, and Magnetti-Marelli.

To build this model, I have used the Tamiya F2001 as a base, and aftermarket decals for the new markings and the Marlboro logos which are missing from the kit. I have also used aftermarket seatbelts. The model also features a figure of Michael Schumacher, celebrating his win at the first race of the 2002 season, at the Albert Park street circuit in Melbourne, Australia. This depicts an actual scene from the end of the race, where the top three drivers would park their cars in the Parc Ferme at the end of the pitlane.

During the 2002 season, Michael Schumacher would set a record of success, coming 1st or 2nd in every race apart from the Malaysian GP, where he came 3rd.
